so...
a few interesting things have happened in the playoffs since i checked in last.
Toronto, Philadelphia, Dallas, Phoenix, and Denver (courtesy of the broom Kobe and Pau brought out) have been sent home to go fishing for the summer. i can't say that i was all that surprised about Toronto and Denver. the Raptors just didn't match up very well with Orlando, and Denver had too many distractions amongst themselves to even attempt to deal with The Black Mamba and nem'.
CP3 single handedly destroyed the Mavericks (i personally witnessed Game 4 and i have video to prove it but for some reason photobucket isn't cooperating with me. check myspace.com/djjaycee, the videos are there under the blog titled the same as this one...)
yeah the Mavs got that ass STOMPED and Avery was sent packing after the Game 5 loss in New Orleans. not sure if the JKidd trade was worth all that. Jason, Josh, and Dirk must toughen the fuck up and get it together next year.
i hate mentioning this team so i avoid it when at all necessary so CP3, PLEASE do us basketball fans a FAVOR and do a repeat performance of your work against Dallas on them. thank you...
i'd really like to see T-Mac make it outta the first round for once in his career but the odds of it happening aren't that great against Utah, in Utah. yeah they've beaten them there before (i was even there at the home opener November 1st with my homie Big Pooh from Little Brother) but for some reason i don't see it happening tonight. y'all are welcome to prove me wrong though...
in the Eastern Conference i don't think ANYONE expected the Hawks to take 2 straight from the Celtics. i know i didn't and to tell the absolute truth, i wasn't rooting for them but i'm actually glad they won because it made the series interesting as fuck. they kinda reverted to their norm for Game 5 (a blowout loss) but IF they win Game 6 tonight i just MIGHT be willing to give them a shot in Game 7 on Sunday. now wouldn't that be the TRUE UPSET OF THE YEAR if the Hawks (of all teams) eliminated the Celtics in the first round???
glad my Pistons finally got it together and got Philly up outta here. now we gotta tell Orlando to go head and raise up as well...
LeBron's gonna go ahead and close Washington's season out tonight and more than likely have another party at Love immediately afterwards where the DJ will play Jay-Z's "Blow The Whistle" for a half hour straight. mark my words. Love is one spot i wish i could be at tonight, dammit man...
so yeah, Detroit beats Orlando. Cleveland beats Washington only to meet Boston and lose therefore setting up a Detroit-Boston matchup in the Eastern Conference Finals. as i've said before, my allegiance is to the Pistons but i won't be mad if the Celtics win it all simply because KG and Ray Allen DESERVE a ring for all the suffering they've had to do on bad teams previously...
New Orleans beats them to run into the Lakers for the Western Conference Finals.
Lakers-Celtics (Pistons) in the NBA Finals this year, holla at ya boy....

the hate is strong here. basketball fan? how can you call yourself a basketball fan and hate on the champs? how can you hate on timmy cuz his jumper is $$$ inside 10-15 feet, he works dudes in the post and he has that butta ass hook? how can you hate mr. longoria for fearlessly running up in the paint and dropping in reverse layups and teardrops over the outstretched arms of giants? i could understand how people can hate manu...if he wasn't on my team i'd hate his ass too. i don't buy the "boring" argument either. it is not boring to watch tony p. and manu work dudes. i think tony p. is one of the best small guards in the league right now and once he cleans up his jumper i will not think twice about calling him the best small guard in the league. timmy might be a little plain jane but tony and manu make the games fun to watch.
how? easy. other that the identical sneakers that David Robinson and Tim Duncan wore during Tim's rookie year (the Air Total Max Uptempo in case you were wondering) and the silver alternate jersey that they re-introduced back in '04 (that's sitting in my closet as we speak), i've never been a Spurs fan. i've said before that they're fundamentally solid (can't hate on their 4 titles in less than 10 years), but in my opinion they're just not all that exciting to watch. i like a little flash and exciting thunderous dunks in my Sportscenter highlights at night and they just don't provide that for me. George Gervin would have to come back with his legendary finger roll and get in uniform in order for me to jump on the Spurs bandwagon, which obviously isn't gonna happen. sorry...
