my answer is "not entirely, but it played a HUGE part".

take a look at this video and pay CLOSE attention to the 1:08, 3:02, and 3:59 markers and you'll that the above pictured keyboard is prominently featured in the production setups of Prince Paul and Maseo.



just for the simple reason that this was used AT ALL in the making of an album that was so monumental in hiphop, is reason enough for Prince Paul to be considered as one of the all time greats. next time u listen to that album, refer back to this piece. i guarantee you'll appreciate it even more than you already did...

and speaking of Channel 62, most of us tuned into that channel to watch The Scene ahem, The New Dance Show. it was our local version of Soul Train (ha!) hosted by the one and only Nat Morris. don't front, your city probably had their own version of it too ("cough" Atlanta Jamz "cough") but i'm sure it wasn't as niggtacular as these clips, lol...
